S.S.T.A.:   Social Services To Adults includes referrals and assistance given to those 18 years of age and up who request assistance with housing, rental assistance, food, assistance with medication, assistance in helping to complete forms, transportation, and financial assistance of various sources.

IHAS:        In Home Aide Services assist adults with disabilities, personal care and chores in their home. This does not include administering medication. It may include running errands, shopping, meal preparation, laundry and if no other means of transportation is available, transporting for medical appointments, although this is discouraged on a routine basis. Our agency has three merit employees who are assigned various IHAS cases. IHAS hours do not include evenings and weekends at this time. this is a supplemental program and not a 24-hour service. If the customer is Senior Care Eligible, referrals are made to the Commission on Aging (COA). If no aides are available through the Department of Social Services or COA, and the customer's needs rank high enough, workers make referrals for aide service through Shore Up or Thomas Patient Care.

APS:        Adult Protective Services investigates allegations of Vulnerable Adults who are suspected of being exploited, abused (physically, mentally or sexually), neglect and/or self-neglect. Such cases may result in intervention from law enforcement and may include the need for agency to pursue guardianship for the vulnerable adult.

Project Home (C.A.R.E):    The C.A.R.E. Program provides supervised housing where single disabled and/or elderly adults receive room, board, personal care and assistance with other activities of daily living. The program serves adults who are unable to live alone due to mental and/or physical handing capping conditions. As of July 01, 2001, this program is now mandated by the same regulations as Assisted Living facilities.

Respite: The Respite Program provides financial  reimbursement  to families providing care for their elderly/disabled relatives, allowing these relatives to receive a temporary break from their care taker responsibilities.
